Trivedi Technology Innovations International (T2I2)
creates instructional software for K-12 and higher education in
physical sciences and mathematics. After years of teaching at Virginia
Tech, the founders of T2I2 realized that the up-coming generation of
students spends very little time reading their ever more expensive
textbooks. On the other hand, these students are at ease in the world
of video games, instant messaging, and web surfing. The number of wired
schools with computer labs, or laptop programs, is increasing every
day. Availability of comprehensive digital content for education in
physical sciences and mathematics has, however, been lagging behind
that of hardware. The challenge taken by our company is to develop
comprehensive educational material in an interactive audio-visual
format that is familiar to 21 st century students and conducive to
learning.
In August 2006, T2I2 released General Chemistry 3.3 on
DVD-ROM for the
Windows and Macintosh platforms. With its lecture material, videos of
chemical experiments, 3D-animations, interactive problems,
multiple-choice questions with detailed solutions, and multiple-choice
questions with interactive solutions. This software goes
well beyond the traditional textbook, and provides a near
full-classroom experience. General Chemistry 4.0 on DVD-ROM is the
result of a five-year program taken on by a dedicated group of
undergraduate students and faculty at Virginia Tech.
T2I2, founded in Salem, Virginia, in 2000 by Dr. Ketan
Trivedi, is now located at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center
in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia.
